To me, it means a variety of things:
- To be an explorer in this journey through life, using words to create images of what was, what is and what may be.
- To write from personal experience and from that of other sojourners about aspects of life that evoke deep feelings within the soul.
- To explore and write about topics that touch on the emotions of joy, optimism, hope, sadness, fear, anger, betrayal, and a range of others.
- And to explore passions that have emerged and continue to emerge through various life stages….
Does the word ‘passion’ evoke in you a sense of excitement and adventure as it does me? Perhaps, thrill-seeking activities excite you too… parasailing and helicopter rides (because I am afraid of heights); white water rafting; sea kayaking, and other water pursuits. I still have some good years left in me so I plan to sign on for a few more adventures like scuba diving, as well as canopy riding in the jungle, hot air balloon rides and skydiving (yes, because I am afraid of heights). And I expect I will write about them with passion when the time is right.

In the meantime, I will write about what I have already experienced in life and what I am learning along the way. Sometimes it will be light, perhaps even flippant; at other times, more serious as I immerse myself deeply into processing ideas or circumstances that emerge.
What appeals to you when you read? Is it the passion that comes through the writer’s words on the page or is it the passion you have lived through your own experiences, which you have been reminded of as you read the writer’s words? Good reading, and I look forward to your thoughts. I write….
